Jonas Fries
- Born 1992 in Nuremberg, Germany
- Currently living and working in Halle (Saale), Germany
- After training as a carpenter, I developed a deeper interest in interior design, which led me to Munich in 2018.
- Following this, I pursued time-based arts at Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design in Halle (Saale).
- In 2020, I had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Art in Basel, Switzerland.
- I also participated in art festivals such as: Kunsttage Basel (2022) OSTEN Festival Bitterfeld-Wolfen (2024)
- In 2023, I received a DAAD scholarship and spent six months in Japan at the Saga University Faculty of Art and Regional Design, as part of the SPACE Program.
- At the beginning of 2024, I took part in the “Bauhaus Study Rooms” video project, organized by Vera Lauf at the Bauhaus Foundation Dessau.
- I completed my studies at Burg Giebichenstein with a diploma exhibition “Beam Paths” at the Francke Foundations, Halle (Saale).
- Currently, I am continuing my studies at the “Universität der Künste” (UdK) in Berlin in the Object Sculpture class under Professor Manfred Pernice.
