Beam Paths Installation

latex, helium // 200 x 200 x 200 cm

Walk-in Camera Obscura for physical sensation. Light is at the centre of the dark room. This replica of the ancient camera obscura is used in my work to concentrate the visual experience. In the empty, dark room, the sensory impressions are addressed in an unusual way, and the gaze is directed towards the light entrance opening and the light projection. To create a clear reflection of the sun, a white balloon filled with helium was fixed outside for this installation. At the level of the lens of the Camera Obscura on the third floor of the building, it was tied up at several points with cords. The balloon functions as an artificial celestial body that reflects the most powerful source of light - the sun.

Beam Paths Installation

Steel / Motor // 70 cm x 50 cm x 50 cm

The steel sculpture is moved by gears and a motor. Its limbs move, causing the steel body to open and close. The steel plates reflect the environment and integrate the sculpture into the space. Light sources create reflections on surrounding surfaces.

Beam Paths Installation

porcelain / glaze / steel // 80 x 60 x 0,3 cm

The porcelain plates were fired with negative casts of already destroyed organisms, and I also made plaster moulds for positive porcelain casts of the insects. The lifeless bodies of nocturnal insects came from an insect killer lamp in front of a supermarket.

Straight in Circles // 2023

Video // 4:12 Min.

Nocturnal insects can no longer perceive the moon as a guide. Due to light pollution, it is outshone by electric light sources, which are a deadly misdirection for the insects due to their small spatial distance.
